The Barhi is a connoisseur’s favourite and something of a hidden gem. Small, round and golden, it is famous for a texture that is exceptionally soft and creamy, almost like caramel, with a rich butterscotch flavour.

For anyone who loves their dates especially tender and sweet, Barhi is hard to beat. It is delicate, indulgent and melts in the mouth, which makes it a lovely everyday treat as well as a special one.

As with all our dates, we keep it pure: whole, sun-ripened fruit from the Jordan Valleyfrom Egypt for our Australian customers, handpicked and hand-sorted, with no added sugar and nothing artificial. It is grown without the use of pesticides.

How to enjoy

Perfect as a sweet little snack with tea or coffee. Excellent chopped into desserts, yoghurt and baking, or served as part of a mixed date platter where its creamy texture stands out.

Storage

Keep sealed in a cool, dry place. Because Barhi is so soft, refrigeration is ideal for keeping it fresh; it can also be frozen for longer keeping.
